About Bob Strauss

Bob Strauss is a writer and editor with over 25 years of experience in online and traditional media. Most recently, he was a communications specialist at the National Institutes of Health; before that, he was a web content specialist for RTI International, where he interviewed subject matter experts, coordinated with VPs and division communications personnel, tracked projects in content-management systems, and posted material live to the external website.

Bob was the nature and science expert at ThoughtCo.com (previously About.com), where his content attracted millions of page views per month. He has also written three books: The Big Book of What, How and Why (Sterling, 2005); Who Knew? Hundreds & Hundreds of Questions & Answers for Curious Minds (Sterling, 2007); and A Field Guide to the Dinosaurs of North America (Rowman & Littlefield, 2015).

Bob has contributed his writing and editing services to outlets as diverse as Entertainment Weekly, Family Circle, FamilyPC, MSN Dating & Personals, ConsumerSearch, and various niche publications (including News of the American Physical Society, for a 50,000-member scientific association; Cardiovascular Medicine, a monthly magazine for doctors and patients; and TWICE, a weekly trade magazine for the consumer electronics industry). He lives in Raleigh, North Carolina with his wife and children.
